Madawaska—Gene N. Charette Sr., 69, passed away on February 9, 2022, surrounded by his wife and 2 daughters, at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle, ME. He was born on September 13, 1952, in Fort Kent, son of the late Nelson and Doris (Madore) Charette. He is survived by his wife Diane M. Cyr Charette; his daughters, Carolyn and her husband David Stevens of Oakland, Christine and her husband Jerry Belanger; 5 grandchildren, Brittany and her husband Jeff Nadeau of Perham, Cody Stevens and Emily Lagace of Augusta, Dylan Belanger of Fort Kent, Ally Stevens and Caleb Hilt of Oakland, Keegan Charette of Dresden; 1 great-granddaughter, Oakley Marie Nadeau of Perham; 3 sisters, Margaret and her husband Marcel Daigle of Cumming, Georgia, Carrie and her husband Bill Sinnott of Millinocket, Brenda and her husband Ron Kneeland of Charleston; 5 brothers, Robert Charette and his wife Diane of Presque Isle, Galen Charette, Gary Charette and his wife Michelle, Nelson Charette Jr. all of Millinocket, Leroy Charette and his wife Michelle of Blue Hill; many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; 1 daughter, Cathy; 2 sons, Christopher and Gene Jr.; 1 brother, David Charette. Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
