IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Geneva (Roy)
Doustou
June 29, 1924 – December 15, 2022
Fort Kent—Geneva (Roy) Doustou, 98 ½ , passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022 with her family by her side at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born on June 29, 1924, daughter of the late Ovide and Amanda (Paradis) Roy.
Geneva was a true matriarch of her family, always providing comfort to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You could find Geneva enjoying her morning coffee at Rocks or Mcdonalds with her friends. She volunteered at RSVP for 15 years, and also worked for good shepherd. Geneva was devoted Catholic who said the rosary every day, and attended church every Saturday.
Her weekends included playing cards with her children, enjoying every minute of it. She was known as 'Memere' to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 'Bea' to her close friends; but on Bingo nights she was 'Bea 14'. Spending time with family brought her so much joy, always providing a sweet treat; she had the biggest sweet tooth! Geneva worked at Fort Kent High School as a cook, and retired after 53 years of service. She was married to Martin Doustou for 37 years before his passing in 1979. Her best piece of advice she would give all her family members was "Don't go to bed hangery".
Geneva is survived by her seven children, Ernest Doustou of Missouri, Hilda Pinette and her husband Carl of Eagle Lake, Sandra Belanger and her husband Bill of New Hampshire, Joel Doustou and his wife Karen of Fort Kent, Betty Deprey and her husband Leland of Caribou, Clinton Doustou and his wife Judy of Eagle Lake, Cheryl Thibeault and her husband Dana of Fort Kent; two sisters, Jackie Boucher of Connecticut, and Mary Saucier of Eagle Lake; one sister in-law, Gladys Roy; nineteen grandchildren, Daryle, Dianna, Vicky, Dwayne, Nicole, Clark, Kelly, Kirk, Jennifer, Kim, Beth, Jo-Jo, Laura, Ryan, Trisha, Angel, Martin, Brandon, and Amanda; thirty-six great-grandchildren; two step-nieces, Judy and Joyce; one step-nephew, Roderick "Roddie Boy".
In addition to her parents, Geneva is predeceased by her husband Martin Doustou who passed on June 12, 1979; one infant child; one grandson, Darrin Doustou; two brothers, Reginald and Lawrence Roy; one sister, Verna Ouellette; one daughter in-law, Connie (Gerken) Doustou; three brother in-laws, Raoul Ouellette, Leonard Boucher, and Gilman Saucier; one sister in-law, Claire (Michaud) Nadeau; one step-brother, Roderick Michaud.
The family would like to personally thank Crosswinds for their compassion, attentiveness, and generosity towards our Mother.
