Obituary

Fort Kent --- George A. Pelletier, 80, entered into rest March 3, 2019, at Eagle Lake Mercy Home, following a short period of declining health. He was born May 27, 1938 in Wallagrass, a son of the late Omer Pelletier, Marie Louise (Cyr) Parent, and his stepfather, Leo Parent.
George enlisted with the US Army in 1954. After serving a short time, he relocated to Connecticut where he worked as a City of Waterbury bus driver. He was also a seasoned cook with several restaurants in Connecticut and northern Maine. George had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around with anyone around him. He liked to play cribbage, card games and BINGO, but he especially enjoyed going dancing during trips to Edmundston, Canada, with his companion Estelle.
George's family extends their appreciation to the staff of the Eagle Lake Mercy Home and cousins, Donald and Paula Vidito, for their exceptional care and support of George throughout the years.
He is survived by: four children, David Pelletier (Tina) of Virginia, Christine Hubert (William Jr.) of Florida, Lisa Lavertue, and Susan Pelletier, all of Connecticut; one sister, Maxine Labbe of Eagle Lake; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and step father, George was predeceased by his wife, Lois "Evelyn" (Gates) Pelletier, two infant children, Sherry and Catherine Pelletier, and four siblings, Joanne Dionne, Frederick and Geraldine Pelletier, and Pauline Morneault.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, July 26, 2019, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 10-10:45 at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
