Obituary

Eagle Lake--- George E. Saucier, 78, passed away May 5, 2025, at a Fort Kent hospital, following a short illness. He was born in Wallagrass on February 14, 1947, a son of the late Ronaldo and Yvonne (Plourde) Saucier.

George last worked with Irving Lumber Mill, Ashland, for over 30 years, and began at the location when it was named Pinkham Mills. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to navigate the many woods and waters around northern Maine. He also enjoyed taking long rides through the woods to enjoy the view of nature and was always excited when he could spot his beloved moose.

He is survived by two children, G. Robert Saucier Jr. of Eagle Lake, and Fay Saucier and her fiancé Kevin St. Germain of Caribou; one grandson, Martin Brooker; two siblings, Sylvio Saucier and his wife Mabeline of Madawaska and Doris Nadeau of Caribou; and several nieces and nephews

Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his beloved wife Jacqueline (Albert) Saucier in 2022, and one brother, Joseph Saucier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at St. Mary's Church, Eagle Lake. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
