Madawaska---Gerald Baron, 88, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 3, 2023, at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born in Madawaska on October 24, 1934, son of the late Arthur and Alvine (Saucier) Baron. He is survived by five children, Kenneth and his wife Cindy of North Fort Myers, FL, Geraldine Brideau and her husband Paul of Madawaska, Allen Baron of St. David, Daniel Baron and his wife Lynda of Verret, New Brunswick, Jenny Lavoie and her husband Paul Dubois of Madawaska; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Fern Cormier and her husband Leon of Southington, CT, one brother, Alban Baron of Caribou. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Baron; one grandchild, Dustin Baron; and one sister, Mavis Bouchard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and relatives may call at Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, September 11. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Highview Manor, Northern Light Homecare and Hospice, and Cary Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion shown to Gerald and his family. A special thank you to Tyler Stoliker for going above and beyond to care for his medical needs. They went beyond all expectations to make them all comfortable. Contributions in Gerald's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/ or to a charity of one's choice.
