Madawaska---Gerald Clavet, 78, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017, following a long illness. He was born October 6, 1939 in St. Basil, NB, Canada, a son of the late Ned and Emilie (Martin) Clavet.
Gerald last worked in the shipping department for Fraser and Twin River Paper for over 30 years. Previously, he worked in construction with various Valley companies. He loved to ride and work on his tractors or anything that would bring him outside in nature.
He is survived by: two sons, Glenn Clavet and his fiancé of Virginia and Mark Clavet of Massachusetts; six siblings, Irma Ouellet, Simone Francoeur and her husband Gildo, and Benoit Clavet and his wife Rita, all of Edmundston, NB, Canada, Fernande Caron of Montreal, Canada, Claudette Morin and her husband Bert of Drummond, NB, Canada, and Fernand Clavet and his wife Ghislaine of Mont Joli, QC, Canada; and many nieces and nephews
Besides his parents, Gerald is predeceased by his wife of over 40 years, Arlene (Boutot) Clavet, and three siblings, Real Clavet, Normand Clavet, and Lorraine Danis
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, November 13, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, St. Thomas St., Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning 9-9:45 at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
