Madawaska---Gerald R. Northup, 74, passed away on September 17, 2022, at a Fort Kent health care facility.  He was born in Madawaska on October 20, 1947, son of the late Clifford Northup and Lucille (Michaud) Carrier.  He was born and raised on a farm in the Valley.  He was Honorably discharged from the US Army after a tour in Vietnam.  He worked as a logger and a truck driver in his earlier years.  He retired from Fraser Paper and found a pass time volunteering countless hours for the Madawaska ATV Club.  Gerald is survived by his wife, Claudette of Madawaska; one stepdaughter, Kim Picard and her husband Elliott of Frenchville; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters, one brother; many nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  Family and friends may call at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Monday before the Service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher House, 1 VA Center, Augusta, ME 04330.
