Madawaska---Gerald J. "Gerry" Pelletier, 71, passed away on June 9, 2010 at a Madawaska health care facility. Gerry was born in Madawaska on August 25, 1938, the son of Irene and Elude Deprey. His biological father, Raoul Pelletier, died when Gerry was six. Gerry served his church and community for many years as a fourth degree member of the Madawaska Knights of Columbus, council # 2638. He also joined the United States Army and served his country in Germany from 1957 to 1959. Gerry was recalled back to the service for one more year during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and coin collector, as well as a snowmobile enthusiast. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family. Gerry is survived by loving wife, Claudette Ouellette Pelletier; his beloved son, David Pelletier; and one brother, Roland (Tats) Pelletier and his wife Carlene all of Madawaska; two nephews, Darell Pelletier and his wife Odette and their children of Caribou, Bruce Pelletier and his wife Stacey and their children of Madawaska. A funeral service will be held 10am on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and family may offer their condolences to his family from 9am until time of service on Saturday. Interment will be held at the Caribou Veteran's Cemetery at a later date.
