Madawaska---Germaine M. Michaud, 82, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on May 9, 1929, the daughter of the late Octave and Delaise (Dubois) Castonguay. Germaine was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She had a love for all people and was always willing to give. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family and she will be missed by her dog Dixie. She worked thirty three years at Highview Manor as a housekeeper. Germaine is survived by five daughters, Marie Mai Bosse and her husband Gerald of Edmundston, Claudette Michaud, Florence Towers and her companion Chanel Cyr, and Michelle Russell and her husband Robert all of Madawaska, Pauline Raymond and her companion Rival Boucher of Edmundston; two sons, Paul Michaud and his wife Nancy, and Clement Michaud and his wife Laurie Ann all of Madawaska; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Michaud in 2008, and her siblings, Wilfred, Alcide, Arthur, Geraldine, Carmen, and Albertine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Tuesday, February 21 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Monday and from 9am until time of service on Tuesday. Spring interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
