Fort Kent --- Germaine P. Soucy, 90, passed away on September 13, 2018 at a Fort Kent health care facility. Germaine was born in Fort Kent on December 1, 1927, daughter of the late Wilfred and Melina (Hebert) Pelletier. She was a positive, fun loving person with a beautiful smile, and was a devoted member of many local organizations; Columbiettes, B.P.W, Senior Citizens Club, NMMC Hospital Guild, Red Hat Society, member of the St. Louis Parish Council and a volunteer with the RSVP program. In 2014 she was named the Ladies of Ste. Anne Mother of the Year. Germaine is survived by her three daughters, Claudette O'Connell of Bangor, Ruth Iampietro and her husband Alan of Massachusetts, and Greta Soucy Ouellette of Fort Kent; six grandchildren, John "J.J." O'Connell Jr. and his companion Jocelyn Merrick of Massachusetts, Brian O'Connell and wife Irene of Virginia, Melina Reitano and her husband Ryan of Massachusetts, Michael Iampietro and his wife Mandy of Massachusetts, Cheryl Harvey Dumond and her husband John of New Hampshire, and James Harvey Jr. of Fort Kent; four great-grandchildren, Aelisa and Mikaela O'Connell, Rocco and Nellie Reitano; five siblings, Mildred Dubois and her husband Philip, Juliette Pelletier and her husband Milton, Gloria Caron and her husband Roger, Clifford Pelletier, Wilfred "Bea" Pelletier Jr. and his wife Linda, all of Fort Kent, and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband Roy R. Soucy; four brothers, Albert, Richard, Ludger, and Edgar Pelletier, two sons-in-law, John L. O'Connell and Roger Ouellette. Germaine will be dearly missed by the staff and friends at Crosswinds. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. Family and friends may call from 6-8pm on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home and from 9-10:45am on Tuesday before the service.
