Madawaska/Frenchville---Gertrude Grandmaison, 95, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2012 at a Frenchville health care facility. She was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on February 5, 1916. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Grandmaison and his wife Maureen (Cookie) of Fredericksburg, VA; Richard Grandmaison of Madawaska; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Jimmy, and Laura; two great grandchildren, James and Dylan; one sister, Jean Desbins of Quebec; many nieces and nephews. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Grandmaison; one son, James Grandmaison; four sisters and seven brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 10am until time of service on Monday.
