Obituary

Van Buren & Connor--- Gertrude M. Thibodeau, 87, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born October 27, 1929 in Siegas, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Clifford and Claire (Godin) Ouellette.
She was a long-time parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church and member of the Van Buren Columbiettes. Gertrude had a deep love of music and enjoyed traveling to small events to enjoy the musical performances.
She is survived by: her daughter Frances Szymanski and her husband Ted of Harpers Ferry, WV; one sister, Patsy Ross and her husband Brian of Ft. Fairfield; eight grandchildren; many loving great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren; her long-time companion, Ronald Johnston; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Gertrude is predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Euclide Thibodeau in 1984, three children, Robert and Roger Thibodeau and Nancy Beaupre, and several siblings.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, 1143 Van Buren Rd., Caribou. There will be no visiting hours. Services are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren
