Grand Isle --- Gilbert Langdo, 84, died peacefully Sunday, November 25, 2018, at a Caribou hospital. He was born February 11, 1934 in Green River, NB, Canada, a son of the late Charles and Blanche (Belanger) Langdo.
Gilbert last worked road construction several years, assisting the building of Interstate 95. Though disabled following a work injury, he still enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ice fishing.
He is survived by: his loving wife of over 59 years, Geraldine (Michaud) Langdo of Grand Isle; six children, Gilman Langdo and his wife Norma, Raymond Langdo and his wife Patricia, all of Moncton, NB, Canada, Norma Martino and her husband Art of Colchester, CT, Bob Langdo and his wife Kathy of Haverhill, MA, Nancy Bouchard and her husband Gilles of Beverly, MA, and Lise Soucy and her husband Rodney of Grand Isle; eight grandchildren; one brother, Rosaire Langdo of St. Anne, NB, Canada; one sister, Edwina Francoeur of St. Joseph, NB, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gilbert is predeceased by two sisters, Louise Cyr and Georgianne Berube, and one brother, Albert Langdo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at St. Gerard du Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Main St., Grand Isle. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday morning, 9-9:45AM at the church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114-10th Ave., Madawaska.
