Van Buren--- Gisele M. St. Pierre, 92, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 17, 2023, at her home. She was born July 8, 1931, in St. Jean-de-Dieu, QC, Canada, a daughter of the late Irene & Marie Anna (Cote) Bernier.

Gisele worked many jobs in and around Van Buren, including the former Yacht Club, homecare, and local restaurants. Overall, Gisele was a dedicated homemaker who loved to spend every waking moment caring for her growing family. Her home was always open, and she found herself for many years everyone's local babysitter, and she was delighted as her grandchildren came along and she would be able to care for them. Gisele was a masterful cook and not one grandchild would leave her home with an empty stomach. She was also an avid crafter and attended many craft fairs through the years. Her many sculptures adorn the walls of not just her family but many of the residents of the St. John Valley.

She is survived by six children, Marlene Bernier of QC, Canada, Marie St. Pierre and her husband Rommy Haines of Ft. Fairfield, Barbara Spaulding and her husband Jerry of Fairfield, Diane Cormier and her husband Larry, Jacques St. Pierre, and Michelle Castonguay and her husband Philip II, all of Van Buren; six siblings, Guy, Clarence, Daniele, Nicole, Diane, and Paulette Bernier, all of Canada; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Gisele was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph St. Pierre, in 1975, one great grandson, Colin Ruggles, and seven siblings.

Funeral services were held privately by Gisele's family. Arrangements were a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
