Madawaska --- Gladys Desjardins, 87, passed away on December 11, 2018 at a Madawaska Health Care facility. She was born on November 3, 1931, daughter of the late Adelard and Marie Marthe (Plourde) Picard. Gladys is survived by her three children, Barbara Harvey and her husband Ron of St. Francis, Steve Desjardins and his wife Denise of Gorham, Sandra Cyr and her husband Pete of Madawaska; six grandchildren, Craig, Chad, Tom, Nikki, Troy, and Tracie, 11 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Normand Picard of Quebec, and Patricia Picard also of Quebec, along with many nieces and nephews. Gladys is predeceased by her beloved husband Emelio Desjardins, one grandson Travis, and two siblings, Jeannine Picard and Gerry Picard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the St. Thomas Church in Madawaska. Family and friends may call from 9 – 9:45 at the church the morning of the service. Spring interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
