Obituary

Fort Kent--- Glen Fabien Marquis, 50, left us all too soon, on February 19, 2022.  Glen was born on April 13, 1971 in Fort Kent, Maine.  He was the son of Isidore and Freda (Michaud) Marquis.

Glen attended school in Fort Kent, and graduated with honors from Northern Maine Technical College with a major in Automotive Technology.

Glen loved spending time with family and friends.  He was so proud of Kyle and Chelsey.  He loved coaching and playing hockey with his 'buddy' Kyle and was proud of having passed on his skating skills to him.  He was always amazed when watching his 'dooder' Chelsey dance, and of course took credit for passing on those skills as well (we all know Glen could dance). He was so impressed that they both graduated with an MBA with honors, and always said they were able to do so because they had their mom's brain.  He loved cooking with his wife, and just sitting down and watching 'a good' movie on a snowy Sunday afternoon.  His dogs were also a big part of the family and he loved spending time with them, training them, and bringing them for rides.

Glen loved helping people.  Taking care of neighbors' driveways, painting lines on the ice at the beginning of hockey season, helping someone stuck on the side of the road, or figuring out what was wrong with someone's vehicle; it was a challenge for him to figure it out, and he always did, no matter how big the job was.  It made his day to hear someone say "thank you"; that's all he ever wanted to get in return.

Glen also had a passion for hockey, and loved his hockey family, The Panthers, and was so proud of being on the bench.  He was very dedicated to 'the guys' and made many good friends while coaching both the Midget and Senior teams.   Another one of his passions was riding motorcycle, which he started doing at a very young age. He also enjoyed snowshoeing, listening to music, and signing along to good old-time tunes.

Glen (Hank) dedicated 28+ years of work to the Twin Rivers mill in Madawaska, where he was known to be a very hard worker, and where he made a few very close friends.

Glen is survived by his wife Nancy (Duval) Marquis, son Kyle Marquis, daughter Chelsey Marquis, his brother James Marquis, his sister Nancy Marquis-Cyr, his nieces Brittany, Sonia, Katie and Raechel, grandnephew Edison, and grandniece Florence.

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, February 28, 2022, 10am at St. Louis church. Family and friends may offer their condolences to the family on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 1-3pm at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home; and Sunday, February 27, 2022, from 1-3pm.
