Obituary

Allagash—Glenda (Moirs) Kelly, 77, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2020.  She was our devoted loving wife, mother, Gram, Old GaGa, and friend. Glenda was born September 7, 1942 in Cross Rock Maine, daughter of the late Charles and Stella Hafford Moirs Robichaud. Glenda married the love of her life James Kelly in 1958. They settled in Allagash where they raised their four children,  James Kelly Jr. and his wife Leslie,  Patricia "Gail" Bourgoin and her husband Tom, Wilda Kelly and Marvin Kelly; five grandchildren, Matthew Kelly, Sean Morris (Lyndsey), Heather Berube (Mike), Mindy Morris (Derick Charette) and Buddy Landry; two great grandchildren, Emily and Mitchell Berube, who all knew they were loved deeply. Glenda also leaves behind her beautiful sisters, Beatrice Jackson, Gladys Therrien, Sandra Hafford, and Doris Lazore. She leaves behind many special people, including her cousins, nieces/nephews, brother in-laws, and sister in-laws. Glenda spent more than 20 years as a cook at the Allagash school. She loved this job, she especially loved being a part of the Allagash Bobcats. Glenda switched careers for the next 20 years; she became a dedicated and hard-working woman for the State of Maine as a receptionist at Allagash Wilderness Waterway. That is where she met and made many friends, especially Don and Anna Raymond. They were great friends but greater cribbage adversaries. She went onto work another 10 years for North Maine Woods. Finally, after retiring she was able to focus on her passions, like quilting, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family. She loved creating homemade gifts and so lovingly shared them with her family and friends. Glenda will be missed dearly. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Cathline Jesmain; one son, Marvin Kelly. A graveside service will be celebrated at the Allagash Baptist Cemetery on Monday August 24, 2020 at 11am, with officiant Pastor John Dik, where Glenda will be laid to rest next to her beloved son Marvin. Please follow face masks and social distancing protocols. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
