Allagash---Gregory Hughes, 74, passed away September 11, 2023, at a Fort Kent health care facility.  He was born in Allagash on June 16, 1949, the son of Henry and Nancy (Thibodeau) Hughes.  He served in the United States Army during Vietnam.  He enjoyed the wilderness and loved fishing, hunting, and sitting around the campfire playing his guitar.  His best hobby was making rustic furniture for many to enjoy.  He is survived by his mother, Nancy Hughes of New Milford, CT; two sisters, Wanda Heckel and her husband William of New Milford, Ct, and Karen Gellella and her husband Leonard of New Milford, CT; three nephews and one niece, Brandon and Alex Merritt, Matthew and Rachel Heckel.  He is predeceased by his father, Henry Hughes and his wife, Nicole Hughes.  In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral services.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
