Allagash--- Helen McBreairty, 81, passed peacefully March 23, 2025, at an Orono healthcare facility, following a short illness. She was born in Allagash on April 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Guy and Thressa (Hughes) Kelly.

Helen worked at the family business, Dickey Trading Post, doing various kitchen and bookkeeping activities, for many years. She was also a realtor of former St. John Realty for a short time. Helen was a former board member of Allagash Historical Society. Helen loved tending to her flower gardens for hours on end or cuddling up to a great book in her home. She was delighted as her family grew to include her beloved grandchildren, and she loved to entertain the young ones during their many visits.

She is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Thomas McBreairty of Allagash; two daughters, Melanie Blackie of Newport, and Melissa Nobles and her husband Trey of Newburgh; five siblings, Douglas Kelly and his wife Diana, Kathy Jackson and her husband Joel, all of Allagash, Beaulah Gardner and husband Lester, Carolyn Gardner, all of Bangor, and Sharon Cusack of Old Town; four grandchildren, Ava, Liam, Henry, and Delia; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by three siblings, Leonard Kelly, Edward Kelly, and Barbara McBreairty.
