Obituary

St. Francis – Henry Kelly, 84, (affectionately called "Papa Kelly"), went home to be with our Lord on January 25, 2026, at a Caribou health facility after a brief illness.  He was born July 22, 1941, to the late Harley & Elizabeth (Jackson) Kelly in Allagash.

Henry was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting, fishing, berry picking, hazelnut picking, fiddlehead picking and enjoyed telling stories. He raised his children to enjoy nature and continued in sharing his passion with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His life-long career was working in the woods industry; driving trucks, skidder, dozer, and dump trucks. Later in life he enjoyed building wood roads for B&L Road Company.

Henry is survived by his children, Vicky Ouellette, (Rodney) of St. John Plt., ME, Sharon Mitchell (Darrell) of St. Francis, ME, Keith Kelly (Lana) of St. John Plt., ME, Leisa Kelly-Nadeau (Mike) of St. John Plt., ME, and Karl Kelly (Susan) of Madawaska, ME.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, his pride and joys, Gina Daigle (Daniel) of New Canada, ME, Courtney McBreairty (Jerod) of Fort Kent, ME, Kelby Pelletier (fiancée Hillaree Schmidt) of Wilmington, NC, Jeremy Kelly (Kelly) of St. Francis, ME, Michelle Deschaine (J.D.) of Fort Kent, ME, Andrea Kelly of Fort Kent, ME, Katherine Kenneson (Adam) of Fort Kent, ME, Charles Nadeau (Kayla) of St. John Plt., ME, Emmaline Nadeau (fiancée Garrett Albert) of St. Francis, ME, William Nadeau of St. John Plt, ME, Morgan Kelly of Madawaska, ME, and Kurtis Kelly of Madawaska, ME;  and his great-grandchildren, who made his heart sing, Adaline and Emersyn Daigle of New Canada, ME; Luke, Beau and Drew McBreairty of Fort Kent, ME, Rebecca and Bethany Kelly of St. Francis, ME, Abram and Anna Deschaine of Fort Kent, ME, Rosalie Simon and Elliot Kenneson of Fort Kent, ME, and Gracie & James Nadeau of St. John Plt., ME.  Henry is also survived by brothers, James, Claude, Galen and Lee Kelly and sisters, Rita Hall, Hilda Nadeau and Hope Kelly.

Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Theresa (Pelletier) with whom he cherished their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was also predeceased by his brothers, Earl, Roger and Ransford Kelly of Allagash and sisters, Mary Hughes of Bangor and Betty Jandeau of St. Franics.

Relatives and friends may offer their condolences to the family on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 10am until 11am, with a service with Pastor Gil Soucy beginning at 11am at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home in Fort Kent.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
