Madawaska--- Hervy Gendreau, 95, died March 18, 2020 in Fort Kent. Hervy was born November 4, 1924 in St. David, the son of the late Baptiste and Julie (Clavette) Gendreau. Hervy was retired from Fraser Paper after 30 years of service. A farmer at heart, he spent many autumn months working the potato harvest on his cousin's farms or cutting oats for Robert Michaud of A.J Michaud and Sons. He was an avid Red Sox fan. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Lorraine (Nadeau) Gendreau; he is survived by their children and three grandsons, Fr. Claude of Portland, Helen and her husband Walter Desrosier and their sons Adam (Sarah) and Nathan (Lindsay) all of Madawaska, Donald and his wife Louise (Martin) and their son Cedric (Catherine) all of Madawaska. He is also survived by six siblings, Anita Fecteau of Windsor, Nestor (Irene) of Higganum, CT, Gilberte Evens of Bradenton, FL, Sr. Irma Gendreau PFM of Worcester, MA, Real (Therese) of Hampden, and Eldon (Gloria) of Madawaska; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings Wallace, Edwin, Yvette Quirion and Dorina Plourde LaMothe. Services will be private due to the Coronavirus. A Memorial Mass will be announced and celebrated at Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Parish- St. David Church, Madawaska at a later date. Burial will be at the St. David Cemetery in the Spring.
