Madawaska--- Hilda M. Myers, 73, entered into rest Saturday, July 27, 2019, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born July 12, 1946 in St. Agatha, a daughter of Therese (Chasse) Albert and the late Joseph U. Albert.
Hilda last worked as a cook for former Wisdom House, Madawaska, now called Ridgewood Manor, until her retirement in the early 2000's. Previously she worked for Northern Trading, Madawaska. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She was a master of crochet and loved to share her craft with family, friends, and local nursing homes and organizations. She adored spending time with her mother, playing cards well into the evening hours, or spoiling her beloved cat, Princess.
She is survived by: her mother of Madawaska; three siblings, Herbert Albert and his wife Pat of Frenchville, Stan Albert and his partner Phil of St. Agatha, and Ray Albert of Brunswick; a sister-in-law, Joan Albert; six nieces & nephews, Lori, Rodney, Amy, Isaiah, Erik, & Desiree; and several great nieces & nephews.
In addition to her father, Hilda was predeceased by a brother, Alan Albert, and a nephew Rodney.
Hilda's family expresses their sincere gratitude for all of Hilda's caregivers, especially the doctors and nurses at Northern Maine Medical Center, Fort Kent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, August 2, 2019, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, St. Thomas St., Madawaska. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 114-10 th Ave. Madawaska. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hilda's name may be made to: Hope and Justice Project, 5 Erskine St., Presque Isle, ME 04769, or Ste. Agathe Historical Society, PO Box 237, St. Agatha, ME 04772.
