Caribou and Madawaska---Iona G. Forbes, 94, passed away on April 1,
2018
at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in Littleton on July 27, 1923, daughter of the late Russell and
Eltie
(Estabrook) Farrar. She was elected to Justice of the Peace. She worked as a duty aide at Teague Park School in Caribou. She enjoyed various sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and the girls UCONN basketball team. She loved reading and crossword puzzles; however, she really enjoyed sitting with her family and friends
in
her porch and conversating. She is survived by four daughters, Beverly Forbes LaBarre and her husband Paul of Windham, NH, Brenda Forbes of Madawaska, Bonnie Fisher of Madawaska,
LynnDell
Muffler and her companion Craig Richards of Caribou; five grandchildren, Patrick LaBarre of Florida, Lisa LaBarre of Windham, NH, Shane Forbes of Caribou, Janelle Brown of Ashland, Keacha Haines of Caribou; several grandchildren; one sister, Alice
Hoyt
of Glasgow, Montana; several nieces and nephews. Iona was predeceased by her husband Lendell Forbes in 1989; two daughters, Patricia Traugh and Vickie Reeves; her six siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held
