Madawaska---Irene Charette, 101, passed away June 5, 2019 at a Madawaska health care facility.  She was born in Grand Isle on November 14, 1917, daughter of the late Isaac and Susan (Soucy) Bouchard.  Irene owned and operated Irene's Dress Shop in Madawaska until her retirement at the age of 62.  Irene is survived by her son, Roger Charette and his wife, Juliette, of Madawaska; four granddaughters, Monique Deschaine and her husband, John, Denise St. Jarre and her husband, Dave, all of Gardiner, Francine Hewitt and her husband, Joseph, of Caribou, and Joy Pierre and her husband, Malachy, of Madawaska; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband Alberic Charette on April 10, 2012.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the St. David Church.  Family and friends may call from 9 am until 9:45am Tuesday at Lajoie Funeral Home.
