August 25, 1929 – November 21, 2022
Hamlin--- Irene Pelletier, 93, peacefully entered into eternal rest Monday, November 21, 2022, at a Caribou nursing home. She was born August 25, 1929 in Hamlin, a daughter of the late Paul and Louise (Levesque) Mazerolle.
Irene last worked as a cook in Borderview Manor for many years. Previously she worked at the former frying and food processing plant in Easton. Overall, Irene was a dedicated wife and mother who cherished being able to provide for her family. She was an avid knitter and vegetable and flower gardener, and especially loved being outside hunting and fishing. Many of her family and friends still use the many blankets and quilts she's created throughout the years.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann Vaillancourt of Grand Falls, NB, Canada, and Jeannette Pelletier of Van Buren; one son, Fernand Pelletier of Van Buren; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Arthur S. Pelletier in 2002; two daughters, Theresa Pelletier, and Delia Lausier; an infant son; and many siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
