IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ivan "Keith"
Hartt
October 1, 1946 – November 2, 2021
St. Francis - Ivan "Keith" Hartt, 75, is now living his 5th day. Keith passed away suddenly on November 2, 2021 at an Eastern Maine healthcare facility. He was the son of the late Gilman and Rachel (Giggey) Hartt.
After high school, Keith enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during the war in Vietnam. Upon his return, Keith had a longtime career in forestry with International Paper Company and then Irving Woodlands. Keith loved nature. After spending his career in the outdoors, he continued to find peace and solace in the forests that were the backdrop of his home; the home he shared with his loving wife, Marie. One of his most treasured gifts was when he was presented, at retirement, with lifetime passage into the Northern Maine Woods. Over the years, Keith served on the parish council and the school board, but closest to his heart was his service and charity for disabled veterans, especially the brothers who served with him on the U.S.S. Forrestal.
Keith was the proud and loving father of three children, eight grandchildren and one godchild. He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.
Keith is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Marie (Pelletier) Hartt; his son, Tracey Hartt (Evelyn) of Fort Kent; his daughters, Trisha (Hartt) Caron (Steven) of Fort Kent, and Keisha Hartt-Donovan (Andrew) of Hampden; grandchildren, Brandon, Jaren, Elliot, Tate, Oliver, Giana, Wes, Avery, and one on the way; sister, Barbara (Larson) McMullen of Northville, MI; brother, Gary Hartt (Gladys) of St. Francis; sisters-in-law, Armande (Beaulieu) Hartt of Madawaska, and Alethea (Pelletier) Guerrette of Fort Kent; brother-in-law, Charles Pelletier and his wife Danielle "Dee", of Bangor; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Keith is predeceased by his godchild, April Hartt; brother, Rodney Hartt (Armande); father and mother-in-law, Claude and Marion (Michaud) Pelletier; sister-in-law, Sherry (Hallett) Pelletier (Charles); brother-in-law, Lowell Guerrette (Alethea).
A Mass of Christian burial and military honors will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, November 12, 2021 at St. Charles church in St. Francis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to disabled veterans at: Wounded Warrior Project, Donor Care Center, P.O. Box 758541, Topeka, KS 66675-8541. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
