Ashland--- Jacqueline C. Clark, 81, peacefully entered into rest Thursday, December 12, 2019, at a Caribou hospital. She was born March 23, 1938 in Sheridan, a daughter of the late Leo and Edna (Tompkins) Caron.
Jacqueline was the owner of former Paul's Restaurant, Ashland, for a short time, later worked at former Chris' Restaurant, and was a dedicated server for several area restaurants and diners. She enjoyed playing the piano but loved to knit and crochet. Keeping her hands constantly busy, everyone in her family continues to enjoy their many hand-knit socks and mittens keeping them warm throughout the long winters.
She is survived by: four children, Carrie Lamont and her husband Peter of Dayton, Sheila Belanger and her husband Adrian, Tammy Penatzer, and Michael Gilman and his wife Marge, all of Ashland; three step-children, Katheen Woodside and her husband David, Gregory Clark and his wife Cynthia, and Jeffrey Clark; two grandchildren, Alicia and Lacey; a great grandchild, Indie; two sisters, Carlene Johnsa of Georgia and Shirley Caron of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband, Wilson H. Clark in 2005, a son, Richard Gilman III in 1979, a grandson, Shawn Morin in 2000, and two siblings, Beverly Brown and Leo Caron Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, December 16, 2019, at St. Marks Catholic Church, Allen Farm Rd., Ashland. There will be no calling hours. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./ Po Box 39, Ashland.
