Madawaska – Jacqueline "Jackie" (Michaud) Roy, 76 died peacefully surrounded by Family on July 19, 2019 at a Bangor health care facility after a brief illness. She was born on October 30 th , 1942 in St. Agatha, ME, the daughter of the late Albert V. Michaud and Alma (Chassé) Michaud. Jackie worked at Northern National Bank in Madawaska for 20 years. She then went on to work for L. James Lavertu, Attorney, for 7 years. After that, she was a deputy clerk for the Maine District Court system for 17 years until her retirement in May of 2005. Jackie enjoyed volunteering at Ridgewood Estates for their Bingo Wednesdays. She is predeceased by her parents Albert and Alma Michaud along with 4 siblings: Paul Armand, Rolande, Clifford, and Doris. Jackie is survived by her husband of 52 years, J. Gilbert of Madawaska, one son, Brian Roy (Michelle) of Madawaska, and one daughter, Cindy Kivler of Pownal; five grandchildren: Elizabeth (Liz), Megan, Alex, Noah, and Halorie, and one great granddaughter Sophie; three sisters: Rena Ouellette (Ernie) of Sydney, Therese Gendreau (Real) of Hampden; and Claudette Cyr (Joel) of Madawaska; two brothers: Robert (Bob) Michaud of St. Agatha; and Leo James (Jim) Michaud of Trenton, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A devout Catholic, Jackie's relationship with a loving God was her guide in life. She would always have a prayer candle lit in her kitchen to offer up prayers for those in need. Her infectious giggle will truly be missed by those who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences on Monday from 9am until 9:45am at the church. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Jackie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Ridgewood Estates Activities department, 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, ME 04756.
