Obituary

Connor and Van Buren--- James F. Michaud, 66, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 4, 2021, following several years of failing health. He was born September 1, 1954 in Van Buren, a son of the late Felix and Georgianna Michaud.

After attending Van Buren schools, Jim went onto work with several area farmers and Bridge Construction. He also worked the former Ford dealership and worked with the Town of Van Buren in the mechanic shop. Before his medical retirement in 2016, he was a mechanic and machine operator at Loring Development Authority. Though his spare time was rare, he loved to head into the woods hunting and fishing or tending to his vegetable garden. A Jack-of-all-trades, he also took to the woodshop tasking on many wood projects throughout the years.

He is survived by: his beloved wife of 47 years, Lorraine (Morrow) Michaud of Connor; three children, Crystal Grivois and her husband Don of Van Buren, Jay Michaud and his wife Christel of Maynard, MA, and Wade Michaud of Van Buren; five siblings, Eileen Rossignol and her husband Joe of Van Buren, Ann Marie Perkins and her husband Granville "Peanut" of Ft. Fairfield, Mona Bossie and her husband Marty of Alaska, Felix "Katou" Michaud and his longtime companion Sue Desjardins of Madawaska, and Rodney Michaud and his wife Paula of Van Buren; 4 grandchildren, Derek, Owin, Adamae, and Parker; one great grandchild on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by two siblings, Ernestine and Ricky Michaud.

Due to COVID precautions, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of Jim's family. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
