Obituary

James Alden Nadeau, 68, of Winterville Plantation, passed away on Sunday, May 6th, 2018, while visiting family in Connecticut.

Jim was born on October 25th, 1949, in Eagle Lake, Maine, to Gilmae (Roy) and the late Edgar Nadeau. Jim's passing ended a lifetime of service to his family, his friends, and his neighbors. He joined the US Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War as a Military Police Officer. Returning home, Jim married the love of his life, Linda (Goslin) and spent 17 years at Pinkham Lumber as a Master Electrician while raising their three sons. Jim served as First Selectman of Winterville Plantation for more than 30 years, as Town Manager for Portage Lake for 4 years, and then as Town Manager of Eagle Lake for 20 years.

The greatest gift of Jim's life was being a grandfather to his 6 grandchildren, Alexa, Carter, Alivia, Mia, Jack, and Noah. He introduced each of them to the beauty of the outdoors, including four-wheeling and tractor rides around the yard.

In addition to his wife, mother, and grandchildren, Jim is survived by his son Steven Nadeau of Bangor; his son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Erin Nadeau of Burlington, Connecticut; his son and daughter-in-law Mark and Jamie Nadeau of Presque Isle; his foster child Josh Cote; his siblings Carlene Soucie, Janet Nadeau, Dana and Ann (Morneault) Nadeau, Philip Nadeau, Raymond and Mary Saucier, and Kevin and Jennifer (Arrington) Nadeau;  his mother-in-law Jeanette (Albert) Goslin;  brother-in-law Glen Goslin; brother- and sister-in-law David and Diana Roy; and countless nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends, and family.

Jim joins his brother-in-law Carlton Soucie, his sister-in-law Louella (Marin) Nadeau, his father-in-law Gilman Goslin, and his beloved daughter-in-law Angel (Allen) Nadeau in everlasting life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11am at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent.
