Obituary

Wallagrass---Janet Chamberland, 69, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, in Fort Kent, surrounded by her loving family.

Janet was born in Fort Kent on October 3, 1956, to the late Bernon and Albertine (Ouellette) Pelletier. She was a graduate of the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She lived a life centered around what mattered most to her- family. Janet had a nurturing spirit and was known by everyone who loved her as a deeply caring person who was always there when someone needed comfort or support.

She worked many years at Gerber in Fort Kent, then many years at a local health care facility, taking care of the elderly, and later devoted herself to caring for her ill loved ones until their passing.

She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Janet also had a special place in her heart for animals and was rarely without a beloved dog by her side, (Cooper).

Janet is survived by her siblings, Betty (Lincoln) Jandreau, Patricia (Thomas) Whitworth, Doris (Roger) Michaud, Louise Pelletier, Terry Pelletier, and Bonnie (Jeff) Daigle.

She was predeceased by her parents, and her sister, June (Andre) Michaud.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and their children, all of whom she loved dearly. Janet took great joy in being part of their lives and cherished every moment spent with her extended family.

A graveside service will be held later in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janet’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
