February 7, 1965 – September 11, 2025
Madawaska--- Janet K. McHenry, 60, peacefully passed away September 11, 2025, in the loving embrace of her beloved parents and brother. She was born February 7, 1965, in Fort Kent, a daughter of Arnold and Huguette (Malenfant) McHenry and a graduate of Madawaska High School, class of 1983.
Janet worked as a waitress and hostess in Madawaska and then in the Waterville/Winslow area for several years at various restaurants. She loved interacting and joking with her customers. Following her MS diagnosis, Janet returned to her beloved hometown of Madawaska. She loved visiting and caring for people and helping anyone she could. She offered many rides for the locals and residents of La Maison Acadienne. She also loved to tend to her yard and flowers and feed the birds. An avid animal lover, she adored not only her cat, Bella, but she loved to interact with her neighbors' pets too.
Janet enjoyed spending time at her beloved family camp in Lac Jerry, Quebec. The fond memories she created those many summers there had forever remained near and dear to her heart.
She is survived by her parents; one brother, James McHenry of Madawaska/Bangor; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Janet was predeceased by her fiancé, Morris Dyer, in 2008; her maternal grandparents, Isidore and Irene (Soucy) Malenfant; and her paternal grandparents, John and Amanda (Turgeon) McHenry.
