J" Thibodeau
February 11, 1972 – January 21, 2022
Fort Kent--- Jason "Big J" Thibodeau, 49, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, following a courageous battle. Born in Fort Kent on February 11, 1972, he was a son of Fern and Gert (Michaud) Thibodeau, and a graduate of Fort Kent High School, Class of 1990.
Jason last worked for TNT Road Company, Fort Kent, almost 30 years as a truck driver and dispatcher. Previously he worked for Northern Timber a short time. He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Army National Guard. Jason was also a member of the Fort Kent SnoRiders Snowmobile Club and Valley ATV Riders, along with the National Riffle Association. He acquired his brown belt with Uchi-karate. He was a parishioner of St. Louis Church and always maintained a strong faith in God. When he wasn't driving truck, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting for deer, birds, coyotes, and was able to draw a permit and take down a moose. Jason was an avid fly fisherman and tied all his own flies. He also loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle around town or take long rides throughout the County and long trips through New England. He liked to tinker with old Johnson outboard motors in his garage and navigate the local rivers and lakes on his canoes or camping, especially around Third Pelletier Lake and Round Pond. Jason was a big jokester and prankster and was well known for making people laugh.
He is survived by his parents of Fort Kent; two siblings, Stephen Thibodeau and his wife Stacey and Sherry Sirois and her husband JR, all of Fort Kent; nieces and nephews, DJ Plourde, Andre Plourde and his fiancée Ashley Nadeau, Elly Sirois, André Sirois and Logan Stedt (the light of his life); a great niece, Madison; his god parents, Jacques and Rita Blanchet of Levis, QC; several aunts & uncles; many cousins; and many best friends spread near and far.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Mary (Kennedy) Michaud, and his paternal grandparents, Adrian and Izy (Theriault) Thibodeau, and several aunts and uncles.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 28, 2022, at St. Louis Church, E. Main St., Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday evening, 6-8:00 PM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
