St. Agatha--Jean Maurice "Moe" Tardif, 84, of St Agatha, passed on Christmas Day to be with his beloved wife, Eunice. He was born and raised in St Agatha, the son of Albert and Marie Anne (Raymond) Tardif. He later married Eunice (Doucette) and moved to Connecticut to work and raise his family. Moe worked many jobs and eventually owned his own service station – Moe's A-1 Gas Station in South Windsor, Connecticut. He later relocated to St Agatha where he and his wife built their own home. He worked at Fraser Paper Mill for 22 years as a Millwright prior to his retirement. They both enjoyed camping at Birch Haven at Eagle Lake with family and friends. They enjoyed many travels through the years, including bus trips with friends. He was an avid reader, wood worker and enjoyed playing cards. Family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them.
Moe was a well-respected and lovable soul in the community – a big man with an even bigger heart. He was a loving husband to his beloved wife, Eunice, for 62 years before her passing. He was an incredible father and grandfather who loved his children and grandchildren dearly and deeply. He loved kids and animals with a kind, loving soul. He was a member in good standing with the Knights of Columbus for many years.
Moe is survived by his four children – Michael and Darlene Tardif of East Windsor, CT; Diane Shackway of Columbia CT; Karen Tardif of St Agatha; Mark and Judy Tardif of Frenchville. Six grandchildren – Christopher, Mindy, Lisa, Mark, Sara and Justine. His great-grandchildren – Angelie, Emma, Kierra, Dylan, Harley, Lylli, Clara and Nico.
