Presque Isle- Fort Kent- Jeanne D'Arc Paradis at age 65 passed away peacefully July 7, 2018 after a long struggle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. She was born February 6, 1953, the 8th child of 12 born to Lucien and Marie Paradis. She graduated from Polaski High School in New Britain and received a scholarship to further her studies. Through her life she worked at various jobs in Conn. After developing mental health issues she returned to Maine. Jeanne was close to all her brothers and sisters and to her beloved pets. Camy the cat and Chris the morning dove. Jeanne had many friends who will dearly miss her. Although Jeanne struggled with health problems throughout her life, she was always available to help her friends with shopping doctor's appointments, financial aid and visitations. She was a generous donor to several charities such as St. Judes and Boy's Town. She was a member of First Baptist Church in New Sweden, the Red Hat Society of New Sweden and the Frenchville VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved animals and she volunteered at the pet center in Caribou. Jeanne was also an artist and was consigned by local business and others to create special oil paintings. She enjoyed doing various types of crafts. Many have and are enjoying her crocheted, knitted and quilled items. She was a passionate bingo player and enjoyed participating with friends and family. She was predeceased by her parents, Lucien and Marie Paradis, and four brothers, Gerard, Leonard, Sylvio and Roger Paradis. She is survived by three brothers, Ben and wife Nancy of Cross Lake, Camille of Gordonsville, TN, Paul and wife Ann of Somers, Conn. Four Sisters; Jeannine and husband Greg St. Peter of Cross Lake, Dawn (Aurore) Frasier, Christine Abucewlcz, Theresa and husband Joseph Mattheeussen all of New Britain, Conn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews grand nieces and grand nephews. Memorial services will be held 9:30 am Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. Graveside services will follow in the St. Luce Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.
