Obituary

Caswell- Jeanne L. St. Pierre, 84, passed away peacefully September 25, 2022, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born March 13, 1938 in Van Buren, a daughter of the late William and Emma (Roy) Jambard.

She worked over 36 years for Dawn F. Barnes Elementary School, Caswell, in the school cafeteria, where she loved to laugh with the local children, who lovingly called her "Grammy," until her retirement in 2010. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband to Knights of Columbus events all over Maine. Jeanne was a common face at most of the area BINGO games, and her and her BINGO friends traveled near and far. She cherished the many friends she had on her computer games and late-night telephone calls. During her younger years, she enjoyed crafting, ceramics, navigating the snowmobile trails with her husband, and especially dancing. Jeanne had a strong devotion to her grandchildren and loved being able to raise them through the years and celebrate their many milestones.

She is survived by four children, Karen Stackhouse and her husband Ken, Wayne St. Pierre and his wife Lisa, Scott St. Pierre and his wife Vicki, and Mark St. Pierre and his wife Susan, all of Caswell; four siblings,  Elbridge Jambard of Connecticut, Gilman Jambard, Leo Jambard, and Nelson Jambard and his wife Delores, all of Florida; seven grandchildren, Tabatha, Joshua, Jessica, Jacinda, Chelsey, Emily, and Bailey; eleven great grandchildren with several more on-the-way; and many nieces and nephews

Besides her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Fred St. Pierre in 2020, two grandchildren, Shelby Jean and Scottie, seven siblings, Clifford, Gilbert Norman and Clarence Jambard, Germaine Daigle, Annette St. Jean, and infant Jeanne Jambard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday evening 6-8:00 PM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
