Madawaska---Jeannine Desjardins, 90, passed away on September 12, 2021, with her family by her side.  She was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on March 5, 1931, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Leann (Raymond) Dufour.  Jeannine was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella for forty years.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, and cards with her family and friends.  She is survived by seven children, Leo James Desjardins and his wife Patsy of Florida, Lorraine Thibodeau of Madawaska, David Desjardins and his wife Faye of Virginia, Richard Desjardins and his wife Bonnie of Madawaska, Reid Desjardins of Madawaska, Lisa Desjardins of Madawaska, Teresa Martin of Madawaska; seven grandchildren, Gerard, Steve, Billy, Melanie, Michelle, Dustin, John; six great grandchildren; four siblings, Fernand, Leonard, Marie, Aline; many nieces and nephews.  Jeannine was predeceased by her husband Leo Desjardins; two sons, Larry and Wilfred; two siblings Jean Louis and Gertrude. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Wednesday and from 9am until 9:45am on Thursday before the service.  Interment will be held at the Parish cemetery immediately following the service.
