Madawaska--- Jeannine Bourgoin, 93, peacefully entered into Eternal Rest April 2, 2023, at a Madawaska healthcare facility. She was born August 27, 1929 in Edmundston, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Bonsant) Marquis.

Jeannine was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church and former member of the Daughters of Isabella. She worked several years for Fraser Paper but always found herself staying home to care and raise her family. During her younger years, Jeannine was avid bowler, earning many accolades across New Brunswick and the St. John Valley, loved playing cards and BINGO, and she and her husband loved dancing.

She is survived by three children, Janita Bocynesky of Florida, Roland Bourgoin and his wife Anne of Madawaska, and Ken Bourgoin and his wife Tracy of So. Carolina; five grandchildren, Alex, Dominique, Michelle, Matthew, and Michael; nine great grandchildren, Max, Jeremiah, Charles, Seth, Franklin, Jane, Jachin, Amelia, and Henry; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Jeannine was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Reginald Bourgoin, siblings, Raymond and Euclide "Tip" Marquis, and Carmen Myers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday evening 6-8:00 PM and Tuesday morning 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 114 - 10 ^th Avenue, Madawaska. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
