Fort Kent – Jeannine Marie Nadeau completed her earthly journey and entered her heavenly home on September 15, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was born on May 7, 1927, in St. Jean de la Lande, New Brunswick, the eldest daughter of Emile and Anne Marie (Cyr) Caron.
After their marriage in 1948, Jeannine and her husband, Leo, moved to Fort Kent in 1952. They raised seven children and began a family-owned business. They established strong relationships in the community and enjoyed time with family and friends. Upon retiring, they enjoyed wintering in Florida. After her husband's passing, Jeannine's strength and determination enabled her to return to Florida to enjoy several more years. She loved her newly found independence. Her style and elegance were apparent to all, and she gained the title of "Queen" by her family.
During her 10 years at Crosswinds, she bonded with staff and residents and became an important part of the residential community. She was loved and cared for so beautifully by the staff and the Nadeau family will forever be grateful for their kindness and caring support.
Jeannine was a woman of strong faith. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She prayed for her family daily and left them with a legacy of strong faith and unwavering love. She was truly blessed and was a blessing to all.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Leo J. Nadeau, two sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by her seven children, Linda McClure and her husband, James of Chester, VA, Larry Nadeau and his wife, Joyce, of Okeechobee, FL, Joyce Labbe and her husband, Vernon, of Frenchville, Jennie Crane and her husband, Philip, of South Portland, Brenda Deveau and her husband, Clement of Calais, Ruth Roy and her husband, Mark, of Fort Kent and Terry Theriault and her husband, Steve of Eagle Lake; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nine sisters; one brother; and many nieces and nephews
The Nadeau Family would like to thank the staff at Crosswinds Residential Care facility for their compassionate care of Jeannine during the last decade of her life as well as Northern Light Home Care and Hospice program.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends who wish may contribute in Jeannine's name to the Crosswinds Residential Care activity fund, 40 Village Road, Fort Kent, ME 04743.
