Madawaska---Joan M. Albert, 70, passed away on March 5, 2023 at a Fort Kent health care facility.  She was born in Madawaska on February 2, 1953, youngest daughter of the late Adelin and Dorella (Lavoie) Pelletier.  Joan was very devoted to her faith and was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crafting.  She also loved music.  Joan is survived by her daughter, Amy Plourde and her husband Gary of Otisfield; one son, Erik Albert of Gorham; one grandson, Nathan Plourde of Otisfield; her beloved cat, Boo Boo; three sisters, Charlene Pelletier and her late husband Richard Gill of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Rina Herd of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Rella Shearer and her husband Raymond of Edmundston, New Brunswick; one brother, Robert Pelletier and his wife Lise of Madawaska.  She was predeceased by her husband, Alan J. Albert and her son, Rodney M. Albert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  Relatives and friends may offer their condolences from 9am until 9:45am at Lajoie Funeral Home on Monday before the Mass.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's memory may be made to Paws Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 94, Fort Kent Mills, ME 04744 or www.ourvalleypaws.org
