Madawaska---Joan Baron, 85, passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 16, 2022, at a Madawaska health care facility.  She was born in Grand Isle on September 21, 1937, daughter of the late Simion and Roseanna (Michaud) Doucette.  She is survived by her loving husband Gerald Baron of Madawaska; five children, Kenneth and his wife Cindy of North Fort Myers, FL, Geraldine Brideau and her husband Paul of Madawaska, Allen Baron of St. David, Daniel Baron and his wife Lynda of Verret, New Brunswick, Jenny Lavoie and her husband Paul Dubois of Madawaska; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Marietta, Rejeanne, Esther; two brothers, Lionel and Leo James; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by one grandchild, Dustin Baron.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  There will be no visiting hours prior to the Mass.  A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Highview Manor for their excellent care and compassion shown to Joan and her family.  They went beyond all expectations to make them all comfortable.  Also, thank you to Tyler Stoliker for his compassionate medical care.  Contributions in Joan's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/ or to a charity of one's choice.
