Fort Kent – Joan M. (Bouchard) Belanger, 88, died peacefully May 30, 2021, at the Fort Kent hospital surrounded by family. She was born January 1, 1933, in New Canada, daughter of the late Emile and Leone (Michaud) Bouchard. Joan enjoyed quietly crafting from knitting, crocheting, plastic canvassing to crosswords and her kindle. She especially lived for her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her six daughters, Judy Lavoie and her husband Jerry of Frenchville, Joyce Belanger and her fiancé Joe Tardif of Frenchville, Janet Lavoie and her husband Karl of Frenchville, Jane Dubois and her husband Philip of Eagle Lake, Jenny Madore and her husband David of Fort Kent, Jacqueline Dubois and her husband George of Fort Kent; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Bouchard of Florida, Paul Emile Bouchard of Connecticut; two sisters, Francis St. Laurent of Connecticut, Susan Nadeau of Connecticut; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Emile Belanger who passed in 2013; one daughter, Janice Belanger who passed in 1996; one grandson, Jacob Theriault; along with three brothers. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 2pm Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the St. Joseph church in Soldier Pond. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Edgar J.
