Madawaska---Joan E. Doucette, 90, passed away on June 26, 2023, at a Madawaska health care facility.  She was born in Madawaska on February 10, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph and Claudia (Ringuette) Parent.  Joan was predeceased by her first husband, Elmer Cormier and her second husband, Richard Doucette, Sr.; her siblings, Annette (Parent) Boutot, Roland Parent, Merita Parent, Maurice Parent.  She is survived by her children, Kenneth Cormier of Fort Fairfield, Joyce Cormier of Madawaska, Brenda Chabre and her husband Robert of Farmingdale, Steve Cormier of Madawaska, Karen Cormier Lewis of Caribou; one stepson, Richard Doucette, Jr., of Berlin, CT; two brothers, Donald Parent and Gerald Parent and his wife Jeannette all of Madawaska; six grandchildren, Monique, Tracy, Derek, Mia, Mindy, and Trevor; two step grandchildren, Ryan and Mary; six great grandchildren; and one step great grandchild.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, July 3, 2023, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  In keeping with Joan's wishes, there will be no visiting hours.  Interment will take place immediately after the Mass in the Parish Cemetery.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Country Village Estates and Highview Manor for the care and compassion they showed to Joan during her time in their care.
