Ashland--- Joan Eastman, 88, peacefully entered into rest April 18, 2022, at a Florida hospice, with her loving son at her side. She was born June 15, 1933 in Ashland, a daughter of the late J. Addison and Ruth (Orcutt) Flint.

A devoted homemaker, Joan cherished caring for her husband and son. She was an avid card and cribbage player, and commonly busied her hands with knitting and crochet. Joan was a very outgoing and loving person and enjoyed helping her community.

She is survived by her son, David Eastman of Mulberry, FL; a sister, Ada "Babe" O'Clair of Ashland; four grandchildren, Michael, Timothy, Matthew, April; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ivan Eastman, in 2001, her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Eastman, and three sisters, Christine "Tic" O'Clair, Lydia O'Clair, and toddler Ellen Flint.

Relatives and friends may greet the family 4 – 6 PM on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., /PO Box 39, Ashland. A funeral service will follow at 6 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating. Spring interment will be in Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
