Obituary

St. David ---Joan (Sirois) Hebert, 83, passed away at a Fort Kent facility on December 23, 2021. Joan was born in Frenchville, Maine on January 7, 1938, the daughter of Wilfred and Mattie (Cyr) Sirois. She was the loving wife of Reginald Hebert for 63 years. Joan was a longtime communicant of the St. David Parish where she married, baptized her children, and raised her children in the Faith. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella as well as the Ladies of St. Anne. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. We would often joke that she had a direct line with her prayers. Joan worked as a librarian at Madawaska High School from 1965 to 1993 where she shared her love of reading and was known for her incredible ability to locate any book or tidbit of information without fail. During her long retirement, Joan was happy to be of service to others, often driving others to their appointments and volunteering at Ridgewood. Throughout her life Joan loved to travel. Time was always well-spent when she was motorcycling, 4-wheeling, or snowmobiling with her husband, Reg. She was a pillar of support to her children, and their biggest cheerleader. Grandparenting brought on another layer of love for her and was her greatest joy. There is nothing that could make her smile like the face of a new addition to the ever-growing family. Joan was always ready to laugh and to share a quick wit. In addition to her faith, her legacy of love lives on through her adoring family. She is survived by her husband, Reginald Hebert; son -Daniel Hebert and his wife, Margot (Madawaska) and their sons, Daryl Hebert and Randy Hebert; children to daughter, Elaine Tetreault (deceased) - Angela Albuquerque, Michelle Broughton and Alex Tetreault; daughter -Lisa Martin and her husband, Raymond (Madawaska) and their children, Lindsey Lavertu, Kara Martin and Jonathan Martin; son -Steven Hebert and his wife, Helen (Madawaska) and their children Kristin Albert, Megan Lizotte, Mariah Cyr, Grace Hebert and Michael Hebert; daughter -Janet Gonneville and her husband John (Madawaska) and their daughters Leah Gonneville, Hannah Gonneville and Abby Gonneville; daughter-Brenda Davis and her husband Darrin (Derry, New Hampshire) and their children, Felicia Davis and Daelen Davis; by her brother, Roger Sirois and his wife, Claudette (Maine and Florida); and by 25 great-grandchildren, with many nieces/nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Roland Sirois; sisters, Lorraine Chamberland and Rita Dumond; infant son, Gary; daughter, Elaine Tetreault; and great-granddaughter Briar Rose Albert.
