Grand Isle--- Joanne Deschaine, 66, peacefully entered into rest Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle. She was born January 12, 1955 in Augusta, ME, a daughter of the late Pierre and Leona (Goupil) Sirois.

She last worked for former Morin Windows and Doors, Madawaska, for almost 10 years before her retirement. Joanne was a dedicated Catholic and cherished attending mass at St. Gerard-Mount Carmel Church. She enjoyed working outdoors and around the house. She adorned her yard with trees and flowers and never hesitated to get her hands dirty splitting firewood. A very active lady, she would walk miles every day or spend hours snowshoeing through the woods.

She is survived by: her beloved husband of over 30 years, Carroll Deschaine of Grand Isle; four brothers, Norman, Morris, Peter and Raymond; four sisters, Rena, Theresa, Elizabeth and Bernadette; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Joanne was predeceased by one son, Nicholas, and three siblings, Geneva, Cecilia, and Roland.

Funeral services will be celebrated privately and at the convenience of Joanne's family. She will be buried in St. Gerard Cemetery, Grand Isle. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
