Madawaska—Joel "Buggy" Gendreau, 68, passed away on December 28, 2020 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in St. David on January 31, 1952 to the late Willard and Agatha (Chasse) Gendreau. Joel (aka Buggy) was a funny, kind, generous, and noble family man, who in his early years, worked on his family's farm, served in the Army National Guard from 1971-77, was a member of the American Legion Post 147 (Madawaska), was a 3 rd & 4 th degree Knights of Columbus (St Agatha) and retired from Fraser Papers/Twin Rivers after 38 years. Joel is survived by his special friend, Sandra (Michaud) Gendreau; two sons, Gary Gendreau of Madawaska, Gerry and his wife Holly of Madawaska; one grandson, Issiah Gendreau; five brothers, Rolando Gendreau and his wife Theresa of Madawaska, Charles Gendreau of Madawaska, Roland Gendreau and his wife Rose of Grand Isle, Claude Gendreau and his wife Claudette, and Marcel Gendreau and his wife Jean of St. David; one sister, Jackie Fortin of Grand Isle. In addition to his parents, Joel is also predeceased by a sister-in-law, Yvette Gendreau, and a brother-in-law, Alcide Fortin. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
