Madawaska---Joel P. Marquis, 85, passed away at a Fort Kent health care facility on October 22, 2020.  He was born in St. Agatha on June 3, 1935, son of the late Patrick and Cecile (Ouellette) Marquis.  When Joel walked into a room, he would always make people laugh.  He was an amazing father and grandfather and took great pride in his family.  He is survived by two children, Daniel Marquis and his wife Gisele of Fripp Island, SC, Claire Pomeroy and husband Michael of Jackson, TN; five grandchildren, Nichole, Jenee, Ross, Joel, Carol; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Rolande Ouellette, Patty Tully and her husband Fran, Sylvia Paradis, Terry Manship.  Joel was predeceased by his wife Luella Marquis; two sisters, Vie Dionne and Lucille Sirois; one brother, David Marquis.  A Graveside Service will be held 10am on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the St. Thomas Cemetery in Madawaska.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
