Madawaska---Joel Michaud, 75, went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2020.  He was born in Madawaska, Maine on July 3, 1944, the son of Adrien and Priscilla (Plourde) Michaud.

Joel was a kind, gentle, soft-spoken man with a big heart to all who knew him. He worked at Fraser Paper for 29 and a half years and was an extremely hard worker, but in his free time he loved to enjoy the outdoors.  Some of his favorite times were spent fishing, farming or simply just enjoying the birds.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family; he was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was very devoted to his faith.

He is survived by his wife, with whom they would have celebrated their 50 ^th year together this July 11 ^th , Nancy (Cyr); two daughters, Tracy Michaud and Liza Pelletier and husband, Adam; a granddaughter, Emily Pelletier; two brothers, James Robert Michaud and wife Marianne; Raynold Michaud and wife Mona; three sisters, Adrienne Albert and husband Ronald, Jenny Lee Doucette and husband Ivan, Mary Ellyn Reid and husband Perry; two aunts and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Carol Doucette.

A private service will be held at a later date.
