Obituary

Madawaska---John P. Couturier, 43, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2015 at his residence in Madawaska. He was born in Fort Kent on September 30, 1971, son of Alfred and Bernadette (Deschaine) Couturier. After graduating from Madawaska High School, John served in the United States Army for four years. "Johnny Guitar" was a truck driver with Albert Farms for many years. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting and camping in the Allagash. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lise (Cyr) Couturier of Madawaska; his father, Alfred Couturier of Edmundston, New Brunswick; two children, Heather Rose and her husband Philip of Waterville; Trevor Ouellette of Madawaska; two grandchildren, Isabelle and Liam Rose of Waterville; nine sisters, Marie and her husband Henry Chamberland of St. Agatha, Louise Hebert of Madawaska, Ann Cyr and her partner Kim Masse of Mapleton, Therese Albert and her husband Luke of Madawaska, Lisa Thibeault of Madawaska, Lise Pelletier and her husband Robert of Madawaska, Murielle Karvonen and her husband Bob of Florida, Carol Couturier of Florida, and Claire Fongemie and her husband Phil of Madawaska; two brothers, Paul Hebert and his wife Cindy of Madawaska, Roger Hebert and his wife Therese of St. David; many nieces and nephews; his extended Cyr family. He was predeceased by his mother, Bernadette (Deschaine) Couturier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 23, 2015 at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday and from 8:30am until 9:30am on Friday before the service. Interment will be held later in the spring in the Parish Cemetery.
